Below is a quick preview of what you’ll find in this guide:
Expertise vs. Passion
“So, which one do you choose? I’ll make this easy for you and tell you: go with the one that leverages unique or specialized expertise, especially if it’s in a professional context”.
“Passion is often more about sharing than solving, and it’s harder to sell someone excitement than expertise”.
“I’m going to get hell for saying this, but it’s the most direct way to achieve our outcome: focus on building profitable products, solving real problems, or satisfying genuine desire”.
“If you feel intense passion for it, all the better – but don’t make that you’re exclusive criteria”.
“Trust me when I say this: you will have plenty of time to explore your passions, without concern for monetizing them, once you’ve created a stable flow of income. Focus on that first”.
(This is great advice, however it doesn’t seem to work well for many people including myself. I must love what I do).
For a good dose of reality, read the section sub-titled:
Why No One Buys Your E-Book
“Plenty of people are going to consider me an ass for this, but it has to be said. Dancing around harsh realities isn’t helpful or respectful to anyone. I want to show that I respect other entrepreneurs by pointing out ways they can be better, and might need outside perspective on”.
I love their direct and engaging style. If you’re still struggling to find a niche, I highly recommend you spend an evening reading over their free download on Niche Research.
